Poland’s Public Broadcasting under PiS Curatorship

Abstract
Within a few weeks after its victory in the Polish parliamentary election in autumn 2015, the party Law and Justice (PiS) changed the media law and made new appointments to the top positions in public broadcasting. There are new staff members in the news programmes, which have already been brought into line with the party. The government rejects all criticism and speaks of depoliticisation. The facts tell a different story.
