The Left, the Right, and the „Third Position“ on Ukraine

Abstract
German media on the left and the right of the political spectrum consider the United States chiefly responsible for the war in Ukraine. Junge Welt, Junge Freiheit, and the “third position”-publication Compact hardly see any difference between political and financial support for the new government and military intervention against it. They employ classic anti-American clichés. While Junge Welt argues in terms of anti-imperialism and Junge Freiheit in terms of geopolitics, Compact adheres to conspiracy theories widespread in Russia.
