Abstract
Russia’s war against Ukraine is having various consequences in Buriatia. Nu-merous Buriats are fighting in Russia’s army. Others refuse to involve themselves in this crime. The war is prompting Buriats to think of Russia as am empire and a colonial power. It is promoting the reemergence of a Buryat national movement.
