Fragmented and Polarized
Insights into Georgian Society
Deutsche Fassung
Abstract
Georgian society is marked by growing polarisation. Social cohesion is weak. Only a few people are involved in community service. Many lack a basic sense of civic responsibility. Nostalgia, feelings of powerlessness, and fatal-ism are widespread. Only among the younger generation is there a growing understanding that all citizens bear responsibility for the situation in their community and in the country itself.
